Ranger !

Okay I got enough temperature with my latest posts (about lists and resolutions), you do not have the air to take too me to a dingo, so I'll share with you my passion for storage.

As much I hate household (before that I pay someone to help me for this, a whole civilization was developed in my kitchen sink), as much storage excites me like crazy. For real.

I love that everything is stowed. But attention No matter how, It must be simple and intuitive. It must relieve the daily and especially not weighing. The idea is that it is better, not boring.

So for this I have a technique : I see where the objects land naturally, where I most often need, where I leave behind me after use. It is pointless to force : NI se, or those who live with you (In addition it makes it unbearable and you end up old alone with her cats). The important thing is not that things have a place but they have the right place for everyone.

And you need to know to adapt, Sometimes when a Cabinet has been changed, or changed things in his way of life, the storage that worked so well before must change. Again nothing no uses of force, it rots life.

When I realized where things should go, I'm looking for where it is easiest. There are things that must be accessible because they are used everyday : example the hair brush. Before I had decided that his place would be in a drawer, result it still landed on the bathroom sink. Now I the range in a small bucket directly next to the sink. Impossible to have bothered to reset its place.

And speaking of brush hair I noticed that I needed at different sites in me so I bought several to put at each location (bathroom, bedroom, entry). Hahaha looks like I live in a mansion but not I have 35 m 2 :D

Coats for example, I had decided that they would be suspended from hangers in the small closet of my entry, but my guy always left hanging around his on a Chair (the hanger because it was too boring in fact). So instead of making a drama I bought her a small Patera just for him on the door, and hop it hangs it there in two seconds. The key is that n ’ never annoys person and that everything is intuitive.

And then there are things that are used less often : all this can go in the closet or drawers.

Good care, It must be tidy otherwise when it is the brothel somewhere you have more scruples to everywhere. I spend a crazy time to find boxes that will go perfectly in my cupboards and drawers, because I'm crazy… Nah, I'm joking, I only have ikea furniture and they always pile hair to the right size boxes (These closet drawer organizers are great e.g., It works with all drawers pax). Then do you not take the head to store go to ikea, or otherwise go to Muji they full of great organizers drawers and fofolles boxes (I could empty my bank at Muji account). ♥︎ Mujiiiii ♥︎

So, I could talk for hours and there isn't the idea. The general idea is to especially be observed, understand how it works and to facilitate the life ^^

One day if I have time and you're wise I will make you pretty photos of all my storage squared ;)

And in a small area it is inevitable.

  4. 29 March 2016 at 10:08

Thanks for the tip ! It is true that there are objects that end up naturally in a location to which it would not immediately thought that it is pointless to harp. Example : My hairbrush is never in the bathroom (place of storage) because I don't never brush me hair and moisture wet my brush e_e but for now she drags on a dresser and voila.. (in the bowl for my jewelry ><)

  10. 29 March 2016 at 11:18

    Of course, pictures !!!
I fully agree with your way of doing, It is necessary that the storage make life easier us, not that it is the complicated to store. It is for this that I did not like the book of Marie Kondo, especially when she says that must be stored in the same place all objects of the same type : It is absurd, should that it compels to have cabinets arranged by categories, as if it was an end in itself. Your example of the hairbrushes make it mad, While it is just clever :-)

    • 29 March 2016 at 12:36

Agree with you also ! J'ai lu (and not finished) the book of Marie Kondo, Once I understood the principle (keep what is needed), c & rsquo; is good ! Then do not go to the extreme !! Je n’aime pas non plus vivre dans un intérieur vide de “life”… ^^

      • 29 March 2016 at 18:56

  17. 29 March 2016 at 12:38

It's fun your article makes me realise that I do that naturally for certain things (cheveyx like you brush) but always unconsciously… But for some other non bizaremment…

So. Je sais à présent ce qui va m’occuper ce week-end ! Pour l’instant, ça me contrarie de savoir que je dois revoir toute ma logique de rangement (the bathroom at the moment !), but I know that I will thank you later for this “awareness “!

    • 29 March 2016 at 18:58

  21. 29 March 2016 at 15:21

Very nice and rather informative article (It is a great messy who wrote). I love the box at the bottom right of the photo style Tote brass, It would be possible to have a reference ? *.* thank you and have a nice day :)

  22. 29 March 2016 at 17:16

You say : “So for this I have a technique : I see where the objects land naturally”.
My ado objects land “naturally” on the ground. Everywhere. I mean well everywhere in the House. Sales or own, everywhere, on the ground. From attic to cellar.

Then when I read : “When I realized where things should go, I'm looking for where it is easiest”, I believe that my ado will go Board at our Lady of small birds. It is the simplest. And I will retrieve my parquet :)

Thank you for have lit up my day. Kiss

    • 29 March 2016 at 18:59

Hahaha I remember our room with my sister when we were teenagers, It was the same we put everything on the ground :D

  23. 29 March 2016 at 18:19

I love your articles on storage and organization, This is a subject that has worked me quite a few years and I have under my belt a few victories. And this satisfaction, This feeling of power when I find a place that suits perfectly to an object ! It is exhilarating.

That said I live with a man, and you seem better out you than me because mine, If it is not things anywhere, hard to put there where they have nothing to do. His clothes are for example systematically placed on chairs in the living room. No matter where it is located when it turns, whether next to those chairs where in the room, right next to the closet, It moves to lay there. so I front of me, When I eat, three tee shirt, un pull, a jacket, two shirts and long pants.

Against this, It has nothing to do…

    • 29 March 2016 at 19:00

It surely means that her closet in the room is not suitable to him, If he found it super handy it would go to the right place. may be rethinking it I guess ;)

  24. 29 March 2016 at 19:24

It's funny, for my part, I am in full reflection Zero waste via the conference and the book of BEA Johnson.
She has an idea of storage that I share. So, It's really the storage by vacuum.
We tried to get there with my husband but it's not easy.
I do not lose courage because in his book, She said that it took them approximately 1 an.

I am not sure to arrive at the same result but I'm working.
Pour moi, a tidy and uncluttered place reflects serenity but to each its method.
L’important, It's feeling good about his little nest!

  25. 29 March 2016 at 20:06

I almost never comment but I have to say that in addition to your articles look j particularly like articles on your apartment ! Always appreciative of your if tidy space. I'm very messy (of birth; nothing to do) then sometimes to give me courage to store (If if c is true) my little inner voice tells me “not but look at Eleanor, who has 35 m 2 c is stored ! If she can I can !!” Because with 60 M2 and a cellar I have print run out of place yet. So I intend to read marie kondo but I'm really all ears all your tricks

  26. 29 March 2016 at 21:14

coucou! I who am a real messy I dream of a day not to ruin my effort of storage after two days!! I love it when my house is tidy but in everyday life it's hard to not let me overwhelmed by everything that surrounds me!!I believe that I have far too many thing at me!! what I don't use takes the place in my cupboards and what serves me while trolling everywhere!!! several times a year I do a great sorting !!! but for now it is not enough!! one day I'll get there…I hope!! I sort my DVDs by color(It makes me a beautiful Rainbow on my shelf)!! Thanks for your ideas and your post on storage. J’adore!!

    • 31 March 2016 at 9:51

I am like! There is stuff which trainent but everything tidy is ranked by color, What a little problem for books and dvds, I do not want to separate the suites but are rarely the same color, same for the senior all United are ranked by color, and there is a lousy t-shit pile a reasons.
      My family take me crazy.

  27. 29 March 2016 at 21:51

I had never thought of that, that my storage could be counterintuitive when in y reflecting a little this is perhaps not the best idea to want to absolutely cram all my shoes in the closet !
I will meditate on and I continue to say that I really like this type of article !

  28. 29 March 2016 at 22:35

Nice article, the idea I find it super interesting and quite logical ! However in some cases - we will call the brothel - chronic syndrome, the places “Natural” are everything but useful and logical : the keys themselves systematically thrown somewhere in the bed, soil is the Cabinet by excellence of pretty much everything (clothing, sacs, but also many papers, pens, books...), and the pockets are emptied on any support at your fingertips. Yet this situation is very harmful, point of view apartment pigsty and huge for time wasters. I'm not really agree on the fact that we should not force : vraiment, and, je t’assure… Some people absolutely must force to get out of this terrible evil and complacent who would sob every true obsessive tidying who orders his books by color.
The only solution I found, It's put in place forced routines -.> hand over the keys on the door back, rest objects that are used in their place (Finally not by land), not to form a big ball with his clothes after showering for the rest such when at the foot of the bed… It is both hyper basic and con but also so complicated to establish !

Enfin, all hope is not lost to arrive one day end-stage “Eleonore Bridge” , which each thing has its place ;)

  29. 30 March 2016 at 5:33

Thank you for the article ! This subject interests me a lot also. One quick question though : How do you for cables, Chargers, etc. Personally I devoted them a drawer, but its appearance still poorly stored regularly annoys me ! Bonne journée !

    • 30 March 2016 at 17:43

I stored them in boxes, except 3 I use all the time in a small accessible Kit. But it should be it is never tidy :D

      • 6 April 2016 at 14:32

Mine are wound, maintained with a small elastic hair band (the small thin rubber bracelets used for the ends of mats), and then sorted by category in style Ziploc bags or small tupperwares (headphones with the headphones, Chargers Ipod/Phone set, etc).
Everything is stored in a drawer “technique” It hosts, outre ce type d’accessoires, les MP3, vieux téléphonesde secours”, et lunettes 3D pour le ciné (oui, c’est du technique, d & rsquo; first).

  30. 30 March 2016 at 7:46

    Great post!

  31. 30 March 2016 at 13:43

  33. 31 March 2016 at 16:44

The book of Marie Kondo has changed my life ! I was a born messy and this book has largely contributed to making my lighter daily. The 2 Tips from the book that helped me the most to change :
    – When we begin the work of sorting, ALL objects of the category must be assembled in the same place. When I did a lot with my shoes scattered all over the apartment, I got a shock. I didn't have as many pairs !
    – Ranger clothing horizontally and not vertically. Now I see immediately the entire contents of my drawer and especially I will not return a stack to catch the below t-shirt !
I'm like you become addict to storage. Si un jour je croise Marie Kondo, je l’embrasse !

  35. 1 April 2016 at 11:02

It's so important to optimize its storage… Here we're moving and we bought a beautiful apartment, except that… There are some attics everywhere. By the type where one must stoop and it's unbearable. They are small and fairly high, except that this is, IMPOSSIBLE to put in the room for example a high Cabinet, In addition, the room is small :/ so it takes a Carpenter to the corner for the custom because no furniture doesn't fit, because we want to not go in an apartment without thinking of the storage, This is the best way to pile up and live in the brothel, How many people “will do so later” and nothing changes. Same for libraries : the mezzanine that suddenly is on the floor a lot more attic, Let's make this a piece of reading-film-relaxation. Except that my current library takes me an entire wall ! Fortunately IKEA offers low library. Why not make all around the room of books and deco to decorate ? :D
What a pleasure to reflect on the way we live and adapt our place of life <3 :)
    3615 I tell my life x)

  36. 3 April 2016 at 16:47

It is so obvious said like that!
I'll try to apply it in me. And I'm mega lessee for storing photos :p

  37. 4 April 2016 at 12:12

Marie Kondo you know ? To read urgently otherwise ;)

  38. 5 April 2016 at 16:05

Eternal gratitude from a mother to her daughter : I just figured why I was all wrong ! In 30 minutes I spotted all the pitfalls I've unconsciously mounted home, and I feel that this will change me life !!!
As to the whole civilization which had developed in your sink, I still cry with laughter !
