A few days in Florida

This is the last trip of my vacation I wanted to tell you before returning to a programming more normal and also you talk finally a project I'm working on this year for you ^^

We had a short week with Lisa for this trip only (our two jobs still demand our presence) so it's been very fast. Everything has been arranged for us by the Amplitudes Agency with which they had composed this trip I had always dreamed (Miami, the Keys, Orlando).

Each place visited triggered a small detachment of jaw even when I least expect, I pushed the aaah and the Oooooh before each landscape. Everything was much more beautiful than I had imagined.

But let me tell you things in order, with all the details ^^

The trip

Passion hublot <3

The flight to Miami from Paris lasts between 9:30 and 10: 00. If you can take a direct flight go, even a small stopover in London or Amsterdam will add you at least 3 or 4: 00 in the legs and when we leave a week it counts not bad in fatigue to attack a short trip in the best conditions. We flew with Air France and it was Nickel, I even my ptits stuff to have a place available next to me and so I had room ^^ (I will prepare a comprehensive article on all my small tips for air travel if you have any questions do not hesitate).

Upon arrival in Miami we had a rental car we took directly to the airport. I highly recommend that you do not ignore the GPS box, and instead buying a U.S. SIM card before the trip to be able to use Waze on your phone : did we save hours of travel in light of the plugs there is around the city. Moi I always buy mine here.

I must admit that I wasn't really smart when I started driving in the parking lot of the airport. I'm petrified when I have to drive and I got big big on me to get started me on the roads of Florida. But I made myself and it went well. I just had a few scares saw luxury cars at any speed on the highways of Miami.

We arrived late in the day, the sun began to set, the sky was sublime, the clouds were like in the cartoons, all round, generous, in shades of purple that I had never seen in the sky. It was really sublime with Palm trees along the road and the view on the peninsula of Miami Beach. First release of jaw.

We stayed only 2 evenings and a few dozen hour day in Miami between the beginning and the end of the journey. We took a max rising before the rising of the Sun to see the beach, the art deco hotels and Wynwood district we absolutely wanted to visit. I had envisioned Miami as a city bling blinget in very bad taste, with a beach town concrete as I hate them. I couldn't be more wrong !

Miami Beach

Cute umbrellas of all colors <3

This is where you find most of the art deco hotels that line the beach. I took a thousand photos, as a small collection of Panini images, It was too pretty. We slept in the Surfcomber hotel who had direct access to the beach. When we went to have a look to the Sunrise I got my 2nd release of jaw. The beach is SU-BLIME and sky was once of the colors that I had never seen.

The sky <3

We followed the cabins of rescue workers as the pebbles of the thumb, each cabin we saw to the far was like the promise of a new picture even prettier.

Cabin Barbie

We went the feet in the sand of the beach of the surfcomber until the junction of Ocean drive and the 5th. Then there is lift on Ocean drive to take a picture of all nice hotels and then take a breakfast with Juice & Java (yum, delicious, yum yum).

Then it is back to the hotel to enjoy the beach, the water was super hot, claire, the sandy, the sublime view. A real treat.

Miami Beach

The famous wall

Then we took a Uber pool for Wynwood (uber in the USA it really changes life) and we did a tour of the neighborhood, almost militarily, block-by-block to not miss anything surprises we offered every corner. There were plenty of concept stores pretty cools : kind guitars and cars in one store. Trop cool. We bought juice at Jugofresh then lunch at Dr. Smood. The corner is filled with lovely shops to see !

Good stuff that's what I really liked in Miami, place in small box French whining now.
What I didn't like in Miami : all these “supplements” they're trying to get paid at all times, It's always the race for consumption : WiFi at the hotel (15$ the day Hello), almost harassment of servers to sell you supplements in your dishes (Oh a vegetarian salad you want chicken and more ?), poisoned gifts free stuff that you can't use without the “supplements” paid. Americans are a lot like that in general but in Miami it's highs. After that, If you not in Miami to party don't forget the earplugs, mouth in the streets and hotels all night, We were using the same to get up at 6 in the morning and without my caps of love I would not sleep. But hey it's the city that wants that ^^

The Keys

Lisa always so chic

Good I write “the keys” but it has spent only 24 hours and only in Islamorada. We crossed Key Largo and Tavernier that said, but it was really fast. It's not far from Miami, like 2 hours max drive on a fairly easy road : It's simple in the Keys road.

We were at the hotel Cheeca Lodge & Spa who had a very nice beach and restaurants feet in the sand that are very good addresses even if you don't stay there. They also offer snorkeling excursions not to be missed.

I had carted my super Decathlon mask in my cabin suitcase just for that, I was eager to see the funds in the keys. And I don & rsquo; was not disappointed, I've seen 4 huge black white polka dots rays swim near me. It was sublime,3e release of jaw, I'm still very emotional.

After returning from our trip we planned to go to the hotel which was right next to ours : The Moorings Village. We were told it was must see, with its beach of giant Palm trees and small houses of colors in their green where are all the most beautiful shooting mode at the water's edge. So we made the small grugeuses, We went by sea to pass the fence that separated the two hotels.

By the way this barrier is as if it was entered in another world : I saw the most beautiful Palm Beach I've ever seen in my life (and I made the Maldives and Polynesia). 4e release of jaw. We walked on the beach taking look casual, There was no one, only a security guy who told us to leave. Asked him nicely if we could just take photos of the beach and he looked at us strangely, pressed a bit, and he ended by telling us “but you have never heard of the Bloodline series”, He was told that “non”. He died laughing, the hotel was actually the main venue of the action of the series (I don't know for real), and he spent his day to repel people who came to try to see the filming was underway. We were there to just taking the trees in the photo and he amazed. He even told us to leave and I vowed to return one day !

The very nice Morada Bay Beach Cafe

Then we went to spend the evening in another setting that is apparently in the series : the Morada Bay Beach Café, right next to the restaurant Peter (had recommended us but was closed). Still a sublime place where I was literally mouth gaping in discovering the beach and its small color tables, the guinguette garlands hanging from the Palm trees, the view on the sea and its pink clouds. It was more good food hyyyyyper, RIGHT NOW IT JUST IS MUCH TOO BEAUTIFUL !

Even the small storm that broke out there tonight was super nice, Lightning on a background of purple clouds had a look of judgment last of the most picturesque.

We took full the Peepers !

The station youpla expectations

It is then distributed to Orlando where we returned our car and took a train to Orlando. With my freak out of the car I could not really see myself doing the 6 hour drive to Orlando. Then the train, comment dire… U.S. train companies have made me realize how much we have luck in France. This means of transport is really to be avoided here down to hell.

Don't be fooled by the great big seats, wide, comfortable and reclining up to an almost lying. It's super uncomfortable as journey, We're tossed in there as of cattle (do not place anything on the Tablet, It's down at the end of 3 minutes), he does -1000 because of the air conditioning (I had 2 sweaters and I'm cold) and big delays are commonplace. The tracks do not belong to the State but to freight companies, suddenly, goods trains always have priority over passenger trains. We remained stopped over an hour to go for a blackout and 2 hours back. There was a magical moment where the car leader came to tell us all “well we do agree that the train will not magically arrive on time in Orlando, LOL go hi good trip”. Good on top of that the journey is longer by train than by car so the interest is pretty lame (unless you guys the car like me).

We should be wary in seeing the size of the stations (tiny for large cities where were we). The train is really not a means of transport that the Americans take a lot.

It's may be in particular delirium : knowing that it will be long, will there be delays, to make the journey from East to West (that lasts 3 days), meet new people and see landscapes. But to go from Miami to Orlando I don't recommend not ^^

We were very happy once they arrived in Orlando. We were really here only to make a park, so we saw not the city, it will be for next time.

We were in a hotel that had just opened : the Loews Sapphire Falls resort the Universal Park, because yes I preferred to make the Park Harry Potter than Disneyland, He had to choose ^^

But this, I'll talk to you tomorrow, that's already a lot of things and as I have a thousand things to tell you about the harry Potter, see you tomorrow for the continuation of the adventures ^^

Until then if you have any questions about this trip to Florida do not hesitate !

We're at the Canada for 2 years and Florida is on our list for a long time …(And the advantage when we do Montreal – Miami is that there is no jetlag hour)

Seeing your pictures in the Florida Keys and Miami instagram, I had like an electric shock : COME ON THERE GO NOW ! Tickets of airplane and hotels booked for my birthday in November :) So thanks for the boost I needed ! <3
Your gorgeous photos and places make me palpitate the heart, j'ai tellement hâte d'y être (plus qu'un mois !!!). Et je me prépare à une crise d'hystérie dans le parc Harry Potter (makes it a bit like at Leavesden studios).

Your photos are superb. I'm from looontemps and they are more pretty.
Your article on the aircraft interests me a lot because I'm moving to Mexico in November, and I have about 15 hours of travel. And I'm super scared to spend as much time on plane. And I have the very bad idea to look at all the articles that talk about problems with the aircraft since I know I'm leaving haha. Stupid idea I know. It would be interesting to know what to bring in luggage handbags. The amount of authorized products (like toothpaste or what wash my face), How to dress for not getting sick because of the AC. If there are any banned products or “ingredients” not allowed on the American continent. How to care for 10 hours of flight non-stop ? How to manage climate change moving from one country to another. In France in November it will be cold and I'll get to the Mexico it will be hot. How to dress to support two climates without exceeding the allowed weight ? I'm also going to bag backpack. In the hold. I'm afraid to leave my bag without me. It is useful to wrap it in their weird plastic ? And all your little super tips.

Oh but thanks !! Whenever I tell that my next trip to the states is Florida we look at me like a crazy woman of the kind “but it's all ugly there's nothing to see except the concrete and the body built guys” so I could show your pictures as evidence that this destination rips !
Sublime photos so you inspire me so much, It's magic to read your posts every time ♡ too looking forward to tomorrow for the article Harry Potter straight ⚡️

  13. 6 October 2016 at 20:38

    Your photos are beautiful !
The train, in the USA, It always makes me think Carrie and Samantha in SATC who think embark for a travel ultra glamorous and who frowns quickly :-)
Choose, It is better to focus on the bus, It's long, but at least it's not expensive at all!

  14. 6 October 2016 at 20:54

Thank you for this wonderful trip ! I have taken full eyes :)

  15. 6 October 2016 at 21:04

More than questions about the trip, It's questions about the pictures I want to ask : How is - it possible this reflection rose on the waves ??? These pastels, This softness ?
Because, When I think Miami and Florida, These are rather very brightly due to intense brightness images that come to mind.
    Bref, your photos are beautiful.

Enfin vous me faites rêver (j’inclus la divine Lisa, of course).
Miami et les Keys font partie d’une idée de voyage que je réaliserai dans doute, surement couplé avec les Bahamas. Je ne sais pas quand, but it's sure to happen. I remember the Council for earplugs for Miami, I would not have thought.
And I'm also bucket for the item on your tips for air travel !
    See you soon !

  22. 7 October 2016 at 17:18

You make me really want to go to Miami and in this region : I start thinking about my next road trip in the USA and Florida has entered the list of possible :) Special mention to all these frescoes of street-art of crazy – Kashink is cool trpo (as usual) !

  23. 7 October 2016 at 18:12

When I saw the pictures of the Keys, I thought that it looked exactly like the Bloodline series, and I was not surprised to read that you were on the set lol. This is a great series, to see both for its decorations (of foufou as you can see it), its plot and its actors. I recommend that you. Biz !

  24. 7 October 2016 at 18:32

Oh wow it looks actually ma-gni-fi-que ! And the Wynwood district, c & rsquo; is simple : it triggered a small detachment of jaw to me also, even seeing only the pictures and see it in true ahah ! Thank you for your article, makes me add a destination more on my list :)))).

  25. 7 October 2016 at 20:49

Never for ever I've been wanting to go to Florida, even less in Miami….but that was before I discovered your photos ! Already on insta I was gently seduced. To find out more here, I am subjugee. Your photos are beautiful !

  34. 10 October 2016 at 10:14

The photos that sell purely and simply the dream. All that I love !

Happy Monday to you, big kisses.

  35. 11 October 2016 at 10:39

C’est drôle, I'm really resonated with me in your article! I went to Miami and the Keys (+ New Orleans) visiting a friend who lives there for three years now and I was going with the same apprehension you: I thought it would be a city bling-bling, a little boring, with little interest. My friends, accustomed to my davntage roots travel, kept saying “But why are you going so? There is nothing to do there!”
Et finalement, comme toi… permanent jaw hangup! I lived in Wynwood and it was magical! An amazing place! Every morning, I was wondering to Dr. Smood (as on one of your photos!) Panther coffee or. Super ambiance. And I loved the Boardwalk on Ocean Drive, the beach… Not to mention Islamorada, and at the Pierre! Maybe in you didn't while you were there, but the neighborhood of Little Havana and Little Haiti district are really great too, with a cultural identity very very strong. Bref, Miami and the Keys have much more to offer than the horrible image full of prejudices that we in France! Thank you for your great photos that made me relive a great vacation :)

    • 11 October 2016 at 11:30

Ah unfortunately we didn't have time to do these neighborhoods :/

  36. 13 October 2016 at 14:00

THE question I ask myself is so: How to have a seat next to you on the plane?
I'm going on vacation this weekend and lessee of the Council!

  37. 13 October 2016 at 19:21

    Hello !!

Me I am always furious 1’000 tourists who like me, stay in the middle and lie in wait for the right moment to take a picture (But if everyone expects we will not succeed) or those, qui, carefree, walking without realizing that they come to land in the middle of your great photo ? :)

    • 14 October 2016 at 11:45

      I'm patient and wait :D
Otherwise it was perfect it was early September and the people were not at all on vacation ^^

  38. 18 October 2016 at 18:43

I went 10 fois en Floride (orlando, miami, palm beach, key west, Naples, Cape Coral, Siesta key all in order and disorder) and did not also nice pictures!

I'm jealous but enjoy these images!

Please give the lie to those who say “yuck, nothing to see in Florida”!!
