Aaaaah this park ! I wanted so much to go there since the opening of the Harry Potter Park ! I loved the studios in London, mais là, be able to walk in replicas of the sets : Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, Gringotts, Knockturn alley, Honey Dukes, 9 3/4 platform, the Hogwarts express, Hogwarts (and some rooms like Dumbledore's office, or the stairs with the tables talking to each other), Ollivanders shop, that of the Weasley brothers… And I forget.
We spent only a day in Orlando so I decided with the Amplitudes Agency (who invited us for this trip) to make rather Universal studios that seemed most feasible in so little time (Disneyworld is huge, It takes several days). And then Disneyland Parks I've seen several, Harry Potter ever ^^
We were staying at the Loews Sapphire Falls resort that is a Universal hotel. So we had the opportunity to go to the Park Harry Potter 1 h before the opening for the rest of the public. We were so excited that we ran almost in the Park to reach the “land” Harry Potter who was inside. Continue reading
This is the last trip of my vacation I wanted to tell you before returning to a programming more normal and also you talk finally a project I'm working on this year for you ^^
We had a short week with Lisa for this trip only (our two jobs still demand our presence) so it's been very fast. Everything has been arranged for us by the Amplitudes Agency with which they had composed this trip I had always dreamed (Miami, the Keys, Orlando).
Each place visited triggered a small detachment of jaw even when I least expect, I pushed the aaah and the Oooooh before each landscape. Everything was much more beautiful than I had imagined.
San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen, I believe that it never happened to me to stop to take pictures in the streets. Pretty wooden houses that you see on my photos are not the exception of a few streets : It is all over like that.
One really has the impression of wandering in a Farrow swatches & Ball, as if the city organized a permanent competition of the prettiest House. I unscrewed the head at every street corner, and when it was not for the barracks, It was the F completely turquoise vintage tram, Green or yellow chick passing me under the nose in showing, or a parade of bumping because mirrors that ran through the city.
CA is for what is pretty. Because it is not only this in San Francisco. As during my last stay I was struck by the misery that reigns throughout the city. The homeless talked much to San Francisco is not a myth and their number is impressive, social policy in the United States is cold in the back. And the contrast between the rents to 5000$ everywhere and the people sleeping in the street has something absurd.
So, I didn't do not talk about it but I guess that you had not come(e)s for it then it is part for a mini tour of the city and some good addresses.
This is the area where I lived, I had a lovely room airbnb to 2 minutes from the metro in a pretty Street. I did strangely spent that very shortly so that it was full of beautiful streets and owls addresses. I've seen more people a little higher to Haight-Ashbury or lower in the Mission District.
This is the street that I get to go take the metro which leads to golden gate park or the ocean. I did it several times and it was very hard to stop taking the pretty picture houses they were all more beautiful than the other, with trees and everything.
It's almost the neighborhood where I spent the most time. I went to do my shopping at Whole foods down for picnic at the Golden gate park or having to eat at home, I have spent hours in small cafes and toured each block to make photos :D
Some addresses :
Sparrow Bar & Kitchen : for a bite to eat or drink coffee in their lovely patio.
Wasteland : a huge tidy second hand store
Wholefoods : for the races of good food (the food in the US makes a little Pinball outside Whole foods I buy nothing)
This Park is a gem and I am far, far from having the Tower. I attended by chance at a somewhat unusual event there bottom : 420 in the park. Thousands of people gathered on Hippie Hill the 4/20 (20 April in the US) smoking all in heart to 4:20PM and demand the legalization of the grass. perfectly illegal but nicely framed by the police, It was pretty amazing to see and the atmosphere was crazy. If it is not the city of hippies !
Bref, two things that I loved in the Park : The California science Academy who was widely recommended in the guide of San Francisco of Airbnb, and the Botanical Garden which was its pub anywhere in the city and that made me very envy (anyway I know never resist a botanical garden).
To be honest I was a bit hesitant before you go. The entrance was to 35$, I do not remember having seen this as expensive type Museum… But there was an aquarium, and I like so much what I just cracked. I even stole a small sum in the planetarium it was super cool ^^
I do not understand why I was not gone during my last trip to San Francisco, the beach is sublime. I spent hours watching the surfers, joggers and trying to take the Ravens in picture. I asked in height in the middle of herbs and I drew a little. The sun sets over the sea here is really nice to stay there late.
To go there it is quite simple just take metro N and it is at the end of the line. Strange subway since it has a part outdoor and it hails a bit like a bus if it stops o_O
The district where I had housed the last time, There are many great restaurants, cafes and shops. It is a little district where you will often make you ^^
Some good addresses :
Craftsman and Wolves : a great place for brunch or lunch. They serve to fall cakes and pies savoury madness. I went there several times.
Juice shop : There are several in the city and I met a Mission District. Their fresh juice are falling I think again, a real drug !
Serendipity : my friend Jordan had warned me “You won't be able to resist that store” and she was right. I wanted to buy everything, but I had to calm me because I had a cabin baggage. It is the shop to bring back pretty small things of SF
When I posted my first picture of San Francisco on instagram a guy told me “UH there is better in San Francisco”. It is clearly not my favorite neighborhood, but I wanted to do a bit of shopping : Madewell & Urban Outfitters that I never misses when I go to the United States.
Not my favorite neighborhood but I was advised to go see Leo's Oyster bar and I've not been disappointed travellers. Just oysters and a glass of white wine at 4 pm when you have a serious lag isn't the best idea of the Earth ^^
Transportation : It's really easy to move to San Francisco, buses crisscross the streets and there is the metro. I did not take the week card because I knew that I would walk many. And über completely changes the life there bottom. Do not make the mistake like me to take a taxi from the airport, I paid 50$, the guy baladée me and was not super cool. Uber pool return, 20$ and a nice super driver.
Weather : I got too hot every day, the weather announced in the 17-18 ° C but it is clearly not the same 16 ° than at Paris. It is still somewhat the same temperature in San Francisco, next time I will go lighter with a small jacket uniqlo in my bag.
Last tip : Go for it, It was my best memory of California on my last trip and I have not changed my opinion <3
